If Kevin pulls on it with a force 0.17 N larger than the force Gamals pulls with in the opposite direction, and the wishbone has a mass of 13 grams, what is the wishbone's initial acceleration.

Please help? I'm a little confused.

The only essential thing here is the force left after one force is subtracted from the other, namely 0.17 N. That's the F in F=MA. It's the net force on the wishbone. Other forces, like those accelerating the hands and arms, are outside the scope of the problem.
