Are you kidding me? I never took them period!
And you know what, in my opinion they a waste of
money and time. I mean come on, do you really need
to pay some one $50 dollars to tell you to breathe this way
or to breathe that way?? NO! I just went to the last class with
my sister to see where it is that I go just in case I go into labor
and you know what? IF you listen to your mom and your friends that have had a child before, I suggest listening to their advice which is free and soo much calming, and intresting. You watch videos from like 20years ago! Come on!

First of all, please dont' pay attention to those who stated they've never been to a class, because how would they know? It's really good to take these classes for several reasons... and no time is too early-because what if you went into labor prematurely-you never know.
One reason- my husband even said, isbecause you get the feel of everything- hopefully they will have a tour of the hospital you can take... As a first time mommy, that was excellent because I had NO idea where to go or what to do!
You also get to relate with other people in your birthing class. How everything is going, what complications each of you are having, it's just a good bonding experience. Everyone in my class said they were gonna get an epidural- and I wanted to do it all natural.... however, I did end up getting the epidural lol.
Also, you get an idea of what to do, and what all will be going on at the time of your delivery-again, I had no clue! Another part-my favorite- was the relaxation time we had in my class- my instructor played soothing music, read a poem, and we just relaxed, with our partner massaging us.
In all honestly, I got a lot of info out of this class, and was very happy I chose to take it. I think you will too! Even though I might not have used everything I learned, it was a great class.
Goodluck!

I just dropped out of my Holistic natural Birth class... WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! i'm 38 weeks pregnant and at the point where i have information OVERLOAD! half the stuff they tell you, you should know by the time you are 3 months pregnant.... So, i would suggest taking the early if you plan on taking them... by the time you are 34 weeks on ward.. you are not going to need the "what to eat" lecture.
Also.. make sure the class you take is what YOU want... I'm having a home birth and i was assured that homebirths would be covered.. but it never was.. neither was pain managment. .. just be cautious ...
Good luck!

We went at about 20 weeks. I was the only guy there. They not have any food or beer. I guess it OK, but, they really not teach anything a pamphlet not tell you. But, it help give you some confidence as you can talk with the other women. For the money and time, I would recommend a Infant CPR class more, which I did take.

I just went to prenatal exercises in my first pregnancy, and the only thing I got out of it was a social event with other women that were expecting. If you want to keep in shape, just walk everyday and do normal things that you have always done. The best place for a birthing class is the library, you will find a ton of stuff on the subject that you won't in the classes.

Why is this necessary? Women have been having babies since Adam was a boy and never needed birthing classes. Why all of a sudden do you women need birthing classes, in the end nothing you do will prepare you for what mother nature is going to throw at you.
