we have both dogs and ferrets, and I have to say in my experience, our ferrets require far more attention that our dogs. They are very loving and need a lot of attention and time out of the cage. This time out of cage needs to be supervised, a ferret is into everything. There is a great site that tells you what to expect if you are planning to get a ferret.

Good luck and I hope this helps you.

Not a dog, cause it needs attention. I would advise against a ferret too. My g/f has one and I hate it. It was cool when she first got it, but let me tell you. It smells, it's messy around its cage, it poops all over the house when it's running around. You gotta watch that they dont get somewhere they shouldn't. They will break out of their cage. Did I mention they stink? They still require time to keep up the cage and feed and play with. Get a cat! Ferrets suck. They smell and they poop everywhere.

I would say a ferret. I think a dog requires more attention, especially if you get a puppy. If you are really busy with work, you probably won't have the time to walk it, or feed it, or play with it. A ferret, to me, requires a little less attention, so it wouldn't take up too much of your time.

Well i have a ferret there very fun to play with.I would suggest a farret because they don't require anything really. All you have to do is feed them and give them water and just keep them out of the cage all day and they don't get mean.I would suggest that you get a ferret that is litter trained so it don't go on the floor.

a ferret would be the best choice-- still needs attention but would be ok in a cage.
