I do have a burner..but no software. I have downloaded and tried about 3 different ones but can't figure any of them out and I am really getting annoyed! LOL But I would really appreciate it if someone could give me step by step instructions. What's the best software..FREE software to use...and all that good stuff. And just in case it matters, I so already have the movie on my comp..I made it that far! LOL

Thanks everyone!!

Ok..some more info you guys asked for.

The type of dvd I want to burn is a movie.

I already have a decryption program..used it and copied the movie onto my hard drive.

And I have no clue if it is a .mpg file or not..but I assumed that there would already be a program in the comp that I could use to burn the dvd since it came with the hardware already..but I can't seem to find one.

And lastly..I know it is illegal, thanks!

well first off if you ripped an industry released movie to your harddrive without using a decryption program of any sort then you might as well delete it now. I use anydvd to break the encryption. It is not a free program but one of the best out there by far. It can also be found on just about any downloading place anywhere. As for a program that will shrink dvds to fit on a standard 4.7gb DVD try doing a search for DVDshrink that is a free program and works very well. also copying industry released DVDs is illegal.

More info please.
Is this movie file an .mpg file and you want to write it as a DVD movie so you can view it on a home DVD player? Or do you want to just burn the .mpg file to a DVD disc as a back up?
If it's the latter question, then XP can do that on it's own. XP can burn data discs for DVD and CD and it can also burn audio CD discs.

Try Ashampoo, it is idiot proof, and make your movie mpeg2 before burning, or use Nero which will convert the movie before burning, download both from the torrent sites.
