Do you remember what absolute value is? (it is the distance between the number and 0 - or, in other words the positive value of the number). So, the absolute value of -4 is 4. The absolute value of -6 is 6 ...
Your equation, then is
4 + 6 + m = 10
You should be able to solve for m from there...
10 + m = 10
m = 0...

absolute -4 = 4
absolute -6 = 6
4 + 6 + m = 10
10 + m = 10
m = 10 - 10
m = 0

we need to know m before we can answer
but FYI the absolute value of -4 + the absolute value of -6 does = 10, so if your HW problem is this:
| -4 | + | -6 | + m = 10, solve for m
then m is 0

m would equal 0 becuz the av of -4 is 4, -6 is 6 and 4+6=10 so m must equal 0 to keep it at 10

Usually in math, the letter "m" or the letter "a" can mean the slope. See if that fits in with the problem. Hope this helps!
