Are you running windows? If so, in xp anyway, go to the control panel, then Power Options. There, under the tab Power Schemes, near the bottom there's a drop down menu select a period of time after which your computer goes into standby mode.

Windows XP is the operating system that allows you to use the computer. I have never heard of an error message saying no signal associated with the standby feature. The only problem i have seen is the standby button not being accessible. I would look on the Microsoft website for help.

right click your desktop /chose properties /under screensaver chose power options/ set the system standby-turn off harddisks ect...
