Set him up with your lawyer posing as a potential employer. Once he trashes you, have your lawyer send a letter indicating he will be sued for damages. Then sue him and get as much as you can.

If they are trash talking you to potential employers it might be against the law in your state. You can then report them to the labor board.

Yea, you quit so who cares
I work for a really, really big company, and i have done poorly on my reviews for 5 years, i got put into my current position against my bosses desire, he asked me to quit, and i said no, so here i am going into my 3rd year....not the most comfortable situaiton, but F##K HIM, im getting paid
