I've heard a couple of things, but I wonder what you've heard. I was watching this thing on Snoop Dogg earlier today and they were driving through Long Beach and there was a pair of shoes thrown over a power line, and the camera zoomed in on them for a couple of seconds, like it was significant. So what's the significance?

My boyfriend says that back in Brooklyn there was a killer who used to throw his victims shoes over power-lines after he killed them.
In my small town it doesn't mean anything except a bully took your shoes off and threw them up there.
I've seen shoes thrown up in all areas, all over the place so its not always in the ghetto, and I used to do plenty of drugs and never heard about the "shoe sign". Don't you think the cops would be on that, checking houses around where the shoes were? They don't need a search warrant to come inside anymore because of 9/11.

Nowadays it means drugs for sale here. Years ago, in some military towns, soldiers who were getting out of the service would throw their old combat boots over the line to celebrate.
My how the times have changed.

honestly it was one of the worst ways of being punk-ed. In those days bullies would beat you up and take your shoes off and throw them over the power lines because when you came home with no shoes you usually got your butt whipped again!

It means somebody is a spoiled brat with no respect for shoes or money. If you ever spent your first paycheck ever on a pair of shoes like me they take on a whole new respect to you.

Where I come from it means someone has stopped walking for good, and therefore needs shoes no more.

I'm not sure if there is any significance.... when i was a kid it was the thing to do to rebel and upset your parents..... today it's more like blowing up people's mailboxs or graffiti....
