Yes. Back in the early 90's, I was 17 and living on my own (longer story) she was 15. First time I saw her my heart went crazy. She was so beautiful, she was actually an aspiring model. We could talk for hours and hours about nothing. We were together every night for a year. We drank, we laughed, we smoked, we cried, we screwed, and then we would do it all over again. We went camping and drove to Baltimore and went to Maine, we did all kinds of things together.
Then one night I was overstressed because I was short on cash and had to borrow rent money from friends and family (first and only time) because I blew it on beers and maryjane the week before. We ended up having an argument, I was a jerk, she was a jerk, and we said some mean things to each other. She cried and went home. I tried calling her the next day, but she went out with one of her friends. A few days went by and she went missing. Her family did not know where she was, and I was going crazy. My stomach was in knots the entire time. I called everybody trying to get hold of her. Finally, I tracked her down one morning at her ex-boyfriends house. I was completely and totally devastated. She had stayed there for several days. After some time passed she begged for my forgiveness, but I simply could not bring myself to forget what she did. It still drives me mad to this day!?!?! Anywho that is my lost true love story. Thanks for reading.

I have loved and lost, but agree with the philosophy that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. The exquisite joy of loving is balanced by the excrutiating pain of losing. Nothing lasts forever, so "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Well, since it happened when I was 20 six years ago, I'm pretty over it and can tell it easily. I had been with my boyfriend for a month and he was the first one I've been with that had goals and such. We were great together and I was learning to not be selfish with him, so when he asked me if he could hang out with his best friend again (the third time, it felt good to let him be happy), I said not a problem no matter how badly I wanted to hang out with him. The next evening my friend called and said she wanted to hang out. So we hooked up to go to a party and she told me that he had died in a car accident, driving drunk, that night he hung out with his friend. I was devastated. It took me about six months to get over, but I did things to keep myself occupied.

I have been in love with a man for eighteen years. I will never love another as I love him. We are both married, but not to each other. Our love lives only in my heart and soul. I love my husband, but my true love will always be just a best-friend. (Except for in my dreams.)
