Yes it does make sound. Sound isn't condition dependant on their being ears around to hear it. Sound is an invisible wave and it is made whether or not anyone is in earshot. Think of it this way. If the world were empty of ALL life and the wind blew would it still make sound? Absolutley.

Sound is a physical phenomena that exists like you exist when no one sees you.

The sound will also slightly move a leaf causing an insect to lose its grip and fall to the ground so that it will be eaten by a spider that will spin a web that will catch the bee that would have taken the pollen from a flower to create the honey that the swimmer would have drank to win the race that would have gotten him a scolarship so that he could finish college and become a professor to teach you about things like this.

The tree will also kill the flower that the bee would have taken the pollen from to create the honey that the swimmer would have drank to win the race that would have gotten him a scolarship so that he could finish college and become a professor to teach you about things like this.

The swimmer and you are just out of luck in more ways than one because of that tree that fell when no one was around.

Yes it does.Just because no one is there doesn't mean there is no air there. Sound travels through the air whether anyone is there to hear it or not. If the tree was on the moon and fell you wouldn't hear it and it wouldn't matter if you were there or not. Out in the vacuum of outer space the noise of a falling tree doesn't travel at all. So yes... the tree will make a noise whether one is there or no one is there.

NO it would not - in order for there to be a sound a device has to detect it such as a human ear or tape recorder- would a deaf man hear a tree fall if he was the only one in the wood - NO he would not, ask him after, was there a sound he would say NO
so no it would not

Of COURSe because the woods have plants in the ground and when the tree falls(it weighs lika 3000 pounds) it makes a lot of sounds, like a person falling from atree story building and making sounds without killing anyone. It could fall on a animal. that would make a lot of sounds.

Yes it makes sound. Sound is not defined because someone hears it, sound is measured in sound waves. If I hear a tree fall and you don't does it make sound? Yes, but you don't hear it, I heard it. Even if I did not hear it, it still makes sound.

Not many people know then answer to this. Naturally you would want to say yes but actually it doesnt. Technically a sound is not a sound until it is processed through your brain. Hence no sound.

Just because we don't hear the sounds doesn't mean they don't exist.
