the visit is confidential. if you are going alone, no problem. if your mom is going with you it could be sticky. doesnt really matter whether you need a pap or not because they need to take a little look inside due to the symptoms you have. you probably should get a pap and std check since you are going anyway and have been sexually active. if your mom goes with you, the doctor will usually want to talk to teenagers alone since this scenario is not uncommon. if your mom refuses to leave the room just ask her to please leave you alone with the doctor because you are embarrased or whatever. be sure she goes out into the waiting room and doesnt sit outside the door (some moms do this in order to eavesdrop) definitely tell the doctor the truth about your sexual history so he can check you for stds and talk to you about birth control. maybe your mom will just let you go to the doctor alone and then no problem. ask the doctor if any paperwork or labs will go to the house, they usually dont.

The doctor won't tell your mother, but if she needs to do something that would only be done to a sexually active woman, your mother will likely find out from the paperwork. If you don't fear for your life or relationship, I would think it would be best to be honest with your mom, even if it costs you some freedom for a time.

If you're really afraid, it's better to go to a clinic for treatment. And you'll have to pay for it (your boyfriend should help, if you have one). But go. And either way, get some condoms and insist that he use them. Learn how to put one on yourself. Practice on a cucumber. My son is the result of an incorrectly used condom.

Everything is suppose to be confidential at the doctor's office. However your parents will get the bill and can figure it out. If you are sexually active, you definitely need a PAP smear and tested for STD's. Please talk to your mother before you go. She may be disappointed but your relationship will be better if you are honest with her. Good luck!

The doctor is confidential.
I believe they do do paps on girls that are not sexually active.
You can ask the doctor all of these questions and they will help you.
Hopefully you can go alone or just tell your mom that your not comfortable with her in the room.

No the Gyno, does not have to tell your mother. Just make sure your mother waits in the waiting room, and no it wont show up on the insurance bill.
