As much Damage and Harm can be done by infidelity, shouldnt it be considered more of a crime?

Infidelity is caused for a lot of reasons and your question is a hard one to answer but I think the individual who perpertrated the infidelity should be the one to suffer the most and does one way or the other over a period of time. Certainly a marriage is never the same if it happens in that case and either spouse is or will hurt more then the other because of it. The choice is up to the one that hurts the most as what to do and I would suspect that separation would be the most logical way to handle it if they desire unless they are able and willing to accept the others promise not to let it happen again. What crime has been commited here is between two adults who should be well capable to handle the situation themselves to determine what they should do. I certainly would know what to do if it ever happened to me and could handle it on my own, and would only ask for the help of the courts to desolve the marriage because of it if it were my choice.

It is a moral crime, but serving time in jail will not curb infidelity. Babies are born in prison, too.

I think the jails are overcrowed enough. The only people who should be in jail are murders, rapist, robbers and drug dealers. infidelity would just be taking up space in prison from people who are committing real crimes.

yes, in my country men and women who are charged with infidelity cases and proven guilty serves time in jail

If they did lock people up for it,the jails would be very over crowded.It would be a good idea though.

I agree,Cheating should be cause for jail time after all it is breaching of a legally binding contract
