I have been taking the Pill Yazmin for less than a month now. Before I was on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and switched. I couldnt figure out why recently I have been having really bad side pains and some other things.Come to find out It's the side effects to the new pill I am taking.I'm not worried about getting pregnant I have just been on it Since I was 12 because of bad periods.I just want to know If Its ok to just stop taking it. I know I will probably be irregular but is their horrible side effects to doing so.I dont like the side effects to the pill as it is.This pill has the worse side effects I have ever seen.I think I'm just gonna go off birth control for awhile give my body a break. Is It ok to just up and stop taking the pill?

Yes, you can just stop taking it, with no worries. You might get some bleeding right after you stop. Talk to you doctor about the problems you had, he should be able to find another type which won't give you the same side effects, or advise you on other options.
Normally, its a good idea to give a new birth control pill three months to see if it's right for you, but if you are having pain etc, then just stop. Make sure you use another form of birth control if you are sexually active.

Birth control pills do have quite a few side effects and some of them can be fairly serious. You should talk to your doctor about these if you have any questions. Yes, it is ok to just stop taking birth control. Just remember that you won't be protected form pregnancy.

well im sure it is okay to just stop taking it if the side effects are harmful....im taking birthcontrol too i havent had any serious ..well actually i havent had any side effects at all. yes you will have missed periods from it but my doctor told me to stop taking it and call her back if i had any side effects from it. maybe you should comtact your doctor if your not so sure but i dont think it would be too much of a problem if you stopped taking it! goodluck!

I would talk to a doctor first, there are so many diff. kind of birth control and most do help with irregular and messed up periods....good luck

im no doctor but i think it is scary that you have been on the pill since so little. do you want to have children some day? if so, i think the sooner you get your body to its natural state the better. but what you asked. yes. a person can stop taking the pill anytime. you might find your periods have calmed down now anyway. hope so.

talk to your dr. to see what is right for you... it doesnt seem that is.. try the patch.. i had to stop takin pills bc i was always nausiated... the patch wkd out great!! it ok just to stop... ur period might be a lil wierd after but it'll fix itself... but really, try something else...
