It was 1st printed in a Texas newspaper in 1945, by Meryll Frost "Most Courageous Athlete of 1945".
He said "Although I am not a great man, there is a great woman behind me."
In the 70s & 80s it became part of womens movement.

I'm female and I think men should be able to arm themselves with the same methods of self defence as women do, (e.g. pepper spray). Not all men are stronger than all women, and whoever is the attacker, the other person is still a victim. Seriously, if I was going to rape a man (not something I would do by the way), I would at least expect some physical backlash. Any woman who attempts to rape someone, male or female, should expect the victim to use self defence methods. You just wouldn't try to rape a man without thinking he will retaliate.

i said it, why- because think about it behind every great man there is a mother whom raised that man or at least she gave birth to that man which makes a great woman behind every man .. i do believe's what he was talking about. and then there is the wives that cooks,cleans, and give that man a reason to become great ... so there u have...

Because great men have the burden of a lot of pressure and stress. It's often their wives that they vent to. It's their wives that encourage, and strengthen them.
