Would Iraq be better off if it divided into three independent countries?

The Sunnu, Shia, and Kurds each have their own distinctive cultures and it seems like everyone would be better off if they could run their own countrys rather than be forced into something they don't want. Maybe the violence would end.

This has come up before. Iraq's map was drawn by the Brits when they were attempting to colonize the whole world. The same thing happened in Nigeria and a few other places.
Now it seems to be America's mess to clean up.

The problem is that only one would get the oil fields, none of them will willingly give up the petro-dollars. That's why they all want control of the whole country, the way Saddam had.
