I have a pattern that requires me to use fusible interfacing and I can't get it to fuse to my fabric. I am ironing it on the highest heat setting. I don't have a press cloth so I am using a damp t-shirt that I have cut. Is that what I am doing wrong? I am really trying to do this and I am about to go insane!

Make sure the correct (fusible) side of the interfacing is in contact with the back of the fabric. Put the hot iron down on the interfacing and hold it in position (do not move the iron back and forth) for 15-20 seconds.

If you are making clothing, use the interfacing on the facing, not on the fabric that will show.

A t-shirt makes a good press cloth. So does a damp pillowcase.
