The one I'm most involved in right now is actually Trixie Belden fan fiction. I have it on my handheld, so I read whenever I have a few minutes (line at the bank, etc). I'm also slogging my way through the Federalist Papers (on the handheld). In paper form, I'm reading the new Dick Francis, Under Orders. I'm midway through the biography of Alexander Hamilton, by Ron Chernow. That goes in fits and starts. It's interesting, but I put it down for a novel or twelve every few weeks. I read very quickly, so I tend to read a book in one or two sittings. This means I'm seldom in the middle of a book - just in between them. My recent reads include Nora Roberts' Dance of the Gods, Shadow of the Giant, by Orson Scott Card, and the occasional poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay. Up next (unless I buy something else before I get to them) - Sir Apropos of Nothing: The Woad to Wuin, by Peter David, several books by Carl Hiaasin that my cousin loaned me, and a re-read of The Last Unicorn, by Peter S. Beagle. And I'm 38.
