They were very successful in the mid-1990's, and gave us the term 'girl power'.
At the time they were a breath of fresh air in the charts as mostly through the 90's faceless dance music and 'tunes' from the Ibiza club scene dominated the airwaves.
Don't know why you are hearing lots about them recently though.
Have you heard a rumour that they may be getting back together, in the same way Take That and 5ive (or 4our as they should now be called) are trying to cash in on the idea that nostalgia generates sales?
Other than that, I don't know why you keep hearing about The Spice Girls.

The latest that I have heard is that the Spice Girls are reforming! But they will not confirm who is involved! There is some speculation over weather or not Geri "Ginger Spice" will be joining them of if it is Victoria "Posh Spice" who is not interested!
But I think you will find that you will get the whole five back together!
Take That never managed to get Robbie on side and Five have not managed to get Sean on side! But the All Saints have managed all 4 of them! Boyzone may be minus Ronan but he has not made his final decision yet! So watch this space as they say!

everything has it's day especialy bands. if they get back together it will be for one thing only...money! I was not a big fan, but they did well for themselves and I think it would be best left alone. Things are never as good the second time around. If they do get back together though it would be interesting to see! lol
