I love what Christmas is really about, the birth of Jesus Christ. [you rock!!!] Also the time with family, the snow, the smiles that seem to be everywhere, and the perfect opportunity to lavish love on your friends, family, and the people who are less fortunate.

I'm an atheist who loves christmas.
My mom died a few years ago but I still have the ornaments she bought me over the years.
I love the smell of pine in the house.
I love my christmas music: celtic, Frank Sinatra/Bing Crosby/Nat King Cole, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
I love my swedish angel candle with the little tinkly bells.
I love all the green and red and gold.
I love hanging stockings and leaving out cookies and a note for Santa with my son.
I love the fudge and all the other feasting.
I love that the whole family gets together.
I love takin tags off the tree at the mall, buying what those kids have asked for, and the thought of making a few kid's day on christmas morning.
I love that there's a midwinter tradition that celebrates family
and the comfort of the hearth.
I love that, opposed to birthdays, there is a holiday where everyone exchanges presents. I love getting and giving gifts.

I mostly celebrate it for the commerialism. I am mixed in between. I'm not sure whether or not there is a god. But I don't exactly nix religion either . I did buy a nativity set last year.
I love the Christms season, not Christmas day, my favorite is Christmas Eve. maybe because I can watch anything Christmassy if I want , children with their dads buying stuff. The excitement in childrens' voices when asked what they want for Christmas. I love listening to carols and music, the Christmas shows and movies.

I love giving gifts to others. I love the spirit of Christmas. I love the Christmas lights everyone puts up. We should never forget the reason for the season as you said, the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

"Joy to the world! The Lord has come! Let earth receive her King!!!!" A day to celebrate when Light entered darkness.
A day when even unbelievers take a rest and enjoy their families.
In my opinion, it takes a VERY HARD heart to not feel the magic of Christmas......believers or not.
I believe that even all the people who give such cynical answers, secretly find some joy in Christmas.

Last year we made a rule, no gifts except the small children up to 15, no fancy cloths, no drunkenness
It was the best Christmas ever.
This year we all have to hand make gifts,
I love the 2 weeks of from work with pay

I love the music, the church plays, the concert at the jr. college, the homemade ornaments my kids make, seeing people that I hardly get to see during the year, the Christmas cards, the Nativity scenes, the food and even though I am in my thirties the cartoons(Frosty, Drummerboy, Nestor) and my most favorite reason is that it is when Jesus came to earth.

Celebrating the reason we are here, Jesus :) and seeing all the beautiful things around us and the smell and feel of the happiness in the air watching families join together.
BUT I am very sad when I see homeless people and people in nursing homes who have no one to share it with.......it hurts to see and makes me hope they all feel Jesus is with them on that lonely holiday for them.

Spending time with my family and I like the Christmas songs.
But it is also a sad time for me to in one way/ because it was the time of year my mother passed away when I was a young child. It brings back sad memories. I miss my mother very much, she was only 33 years old and never smoked, drank or anything; she died from Cancer of the Lymph nodes (Lymphoma).
