In Los Angeles,CA., What school would be a good place to try? What career colleges can I go to in order to try to become a paramedic or anything with medicine, except for working with little kids and just checking people's heart rate and weight. I want to learn how to make surgical dressings and give the right shots to people. Something above working with children(you know, trying to make them laugh, giving them a lollipop.) and below ER(u know, blood everywhere, life or death situations, arms missing)?

Why not get involved as an EMT and work up from there. Alot of the town organizations pay for your classes and for your paramedic school. I would check with your local organization.

Join the Navy and become a Hospital Corpsman. They are the medics in the field with the Marines. Excellent training and experience. You'll be able to get a job with any hospital or fire department when your enlistment is over.
