11X + 20 = 20 + 9x
11x - 9x = 20 - 20
2x = 0

2X/2 = 0/2

x = 0

remember that 0 divided by a number is ALWAYS zero. BUT a number divided by zero is UNDEFINED. =)

11x+20 -9x=20+9x-9x collect variables on one side
2x+20=20 simplify
2x+20-20=20-20 take away non-variable #'s
2x=0 simplify
2x/2=0/2 divide by 2

9x - x - 10x = 20 - 20

take away 20 from both sides, you're left with 2 x...the equation cannot be solved
