The "donut" is meant as a 'temporary' tire. Not a full fledged spare tire.
If you cannot afford a new tire for over a week why not buy a used tire (retread) sometimes for as little as $15. That way you can use that as a spare and instead of the "donut".

donut= temporary tire usually 10% to 25% smaller than regular driving tires. The longer you drive on it the harder the travel is on your vehicle. The donut is a spare tire only meant for moving your vehicle to a safe location usually within 100 miles at the speed rated without doing any damage to your vehicle. However using the donut for a long period of time, intermitently will increase your chances of needing alignment, balljoint replacement, other tires as they will wear faster with a spare on one side than with all normal tires. Remember that initially when you placed the spare you drove carefully, now that probably a few days have passed you forget that you got a donut (reason why even if you dont drive those 100 miles you can cause more harm than good to your car)

not a good idea to drive on it for almost a week. why do you need to wait that long? do you have another car you can drive or another way of getting around?
I think they say 30 or so miles is the max.

The "donut" spare has imformation stamped on its side-wall. I believe it states the tire is "for temporary use only. "sometimes situations prolong that statement. Drive slow, purchase a identical tire to match the other"good one" as soon as you can!Good luck!

You can drive on a donut for several days as long as you don't travel on the highway or travel at over 60mph.
