Great! I'm not a fan of Madonna, but all these child protection agencies are complaining because she is trying to HELP a kid?? Where were they when this kid was stuck in an orphanage?

It is great that she wants to adopt another child and from a third world country where it turned out that his mother died a week after birth and his two other siblings died as well. The father, it was said, wanted hi son to ge the best and agreed to have madonna adopt him, as long as he knew that he really loved him and that he and the grandfather could not take care of him because of the fact that they were near death's door.
Why would there be an advocacy group telling that kid (and his father ) that he could not be adopted by a famous person? What other Malawian family is going to adopt this little boy name David? Are they? I mean, 9 times out of 10, he is going to die in some type of orphanage. This father wants the best for his son-who's to say that he doesnot have the right to give his own child up for adoption? They can't tell him what to do with his own child for God's sake!
I personally think that if the Malawian government actually had a head on their shoulders and a brain in side of it with a mind to work with, then they would realize that this kid is going to be pampered for the rest of his life.......always some one f'ucking up for those for jealous reasons!

Well I think it is good that Madonna adopted a boy from Africa. But this is Madonna who changes religion like if it was a fashion trend. It seems like she is trying to walk in Angelina's footsteps. And she didn't even bring the boy home. She had her people go pick him up. What was that about? At least Angelina and Brad went together to go get the second child in Ethiopia. I forgot the babies name sorry. I just think it is odd she wanted to adopt a child all of a sudden.

I'm all for adoption...I'm adopted and the people who adopted me I know without a doubt literally saved my life. My biological father was 14, mom 13 and I nearly died because she had an std so bad that when I came through the birth canal I contracted it and ended up in intensive care for the first 2 months of my life...with that being said
I don't understand all these celebrities going everywhere but right here in the USA. Last time I checked there are plenty of orphanages right here, and millions of kids that need the same kind of love, attention and families that the kids in 3rd world countries need. Seeing how it's mainly this country that buy there albums, see their movies, read their books, buy their clothes, etc...which makes these stars the millionaires that they are. Just once I'd like for a celebrity to look right here at home if they are ready to give a child a fighting chance in life, one they may not get if left alone to fend for themselves...

I think she just wants some attention just like all of these other stars who are trying to be into adopting like it's a new fad. They are trying to do it because Angelina did it. They don't really care about helping the children, it's more like they want more publicity, especially Madonna. Don't get me wrong, I have always been a fan, but honestly, why didn't she do this before she had her own two children. I am so not convinced she is sincere.

It's for media effect. From what I understand she had the kids line up and picked one out that way. The child's father is still around but I heard that Madonna is going to let the child visit the father. So to me it sounds more like she is renting the kid instead of adopting it. All the kids in the US that need good homes and famous people go to Africa to adopt. Makes no sense to me.

First the Kabbalah trend and now this! It's the Jolie-Pitt influence! I guess it's great that she will be raising a child who otherwise got a pretty bad slice in life, but I can't figure out what led her to the decision...and I'm not really sure the kid will be better off with a woman like that! Does she even have the time to be a good mother, especially considering she already has her own and a career?

Don't buy it... Why doesn't she better funnel some real money? Let's say to pay for AIDS drugs to help the Malawis? I also heard about other celebrities adopting African children. But to me they aren't but publicitary coups.
Of course the children will live a wealthy life, no discussion there.

I think children from Malawi should be adopting celebrities as most have sadly been born without a brain

I think she's tired of Angelina Jolie being in the spotlite and she's ready to (attempt) to get back some glory for herself so she's copycatting. Nothing new is under the sun. However if M and Guy are good parents then it's all good right? Little brown baby finds mommy and daddy who are HIV free to love and care for him for the rest of his life> Who wouldn't want that? I wonder if she'd pay for me to adopt a baby?? Do I think it was legit? Sure, M says "I"ll buy you a new house" to the adoption agency guy and he says "I'll have the baby ready by morning...that's legit right? haha
