Listen, i cant help but notice alot of people still think in stereo types.Myself i'm a diffrent animal maybe i'm ablack male born in brooklyn but later on moved to long island went to a private high school and attended college. I'm not neccasarily "ghetto" in the sense of hte word, but i do hold my own. Now what truely annoys me to no end is that teh successful black percentae is ignored, banash and banned from its own "race". Since i'm " black" ( haitian-dominican-cuban) but my appearance is "black". I have an obligation to speak a certain way, walk with a swager, have a record lol? In my humble opion stereotypes are purely media and whats marketed out there, Because you never notice something about someone until its pointed out.Why cant people just realize or even analyze, that darker skinned people from the southern hemisphere are dark because its HOTTER in those places and lighter skinned people in the north have no need for pigment. We point fingers with-out asking....WHY

People can't accept differences, so they automatically use sterotypes. And not just between races- if someone dresses all in black, people assume they're gothic. If someone is blonde and wears pink, people assume they're a snobby prep. People automatically label others because then they can just turn their noses up and continue with their lives without attempting to learn anything about the people they've stereotyped.

I personally HATE stereotypes and I believe that nothing should be based upon appearance. I tend to 'look' isolated, mean and unapproachable, because I like dark colors and dark makeup, and weird colors in my hair. But that's just my look- I'm a shy, sensitive person. I actually had someone in my english class tell me that they expected me to write an essay in which I identified with the mentally unstable character in the story we were writing about- because of the way I looked. This person made no attempts to even talk to me, or get a feeling about my personality- she automatically assumed that I was unstable, and a drug-user, because of how I dressed.

I'm afraid that we'll never be able to get rid of stereotypes...

Yes, you're right, you're darker because it's hotter there. I don't differentiate between people based on stereotypes. If she/ he acts good, then why I must act like an enemy?
