I never heard that myth in connection with Greek Mythology.
There is a popular tradition among the Greek Orthodox that some drops of Jesus' blood fell on some flowers below, and turned them red. I believe that's the rationale for dyeing Easter eggs red.

Is this it?
Hyacinth
Sincerity. Games and Sport. Rashness and Woe.
A well-known Greek myth tells of a handsome Spartan youth called Hyacinthus, loved by the god Apollo, was accidentally killed when the two were casting discus together. Broken hearted, Apollo created the hyacinth flower out of the blood of his friend that bore on its petal the Greek syllables of lament ai ai, meaning "woe."

Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection. He could not drag his eyes away from his own beautiful face (seen in a pool of water) and thusly died. The flower that grew bares his name.
Hyacinthus was loved by Apollo. When he died, being struck by a discus, Apollo called forth flowers where his blood had stained the earth.
But the story I think you're chasing is the one of Adonis, who was killed in a jealous rage by Ares. Where his blood fell, roses grew.

LARKSPUR, ROCKET
Greek: Hyakinthos
Species: Delphinium ajacis
Description: A late spring, early summer flowering perennial with tall stems of blue flowers.
Sacred to: Apollon (the plant was probably used in the god's Hyakinthia festival held near Sparta in early summer)
Mythology: Metamorphosis Hyakinthos Hyakinthos was a handsome, young Spartan prince loved by the gods Apollon and Zephyros. Zephyros grew jealous and one day when Apollon was playing quoits with the boy he caught up the disc with his windy breath and struck him in the head. As Hyakinthos lay dying, Apollon caused the larkspur or iris flower to spring forth from his blood, inscribing it with the Greek words "ai ai", alas, alas.
