i've always had terrible allergies (nose and throat), but after moving from a humid state (virginia) to the dry desert of california, they got worse and my nose got REALLY dry. i usually have postnasal, still do, but now i also have that full stuffy feeling you get with a sinus infection in my face and forehead, and sometimes popped ears, is it possible for me to have a sinus infection, or could these just be different allergies? i feel fine otherwise, and i know sinus infections usually cause pain dont they? it takes FOREVER to get an ENT appt here, so i figured i'd ask in the meantime!

MOST sinus infections are the result of Oral Problems.

See your dentist first before doing anything else, an Infected tooth can play havoc with your sinuses.

If your dentist gives you the all OK signal than see ear, eye, nose doctor and good luck.

I would say so. Allergies usually don't have that much of a prodominant symptom list. Definitely get checked by a doc, but in the meantime, there is a product you can buy at GNC/Vitamin Shoppe/wherever. It is called SinuFix. It is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL for nasal problems, from sinuses to allergies to the flu! I swear by this stuff, just use it every day. It has collodial silver which is a natural antibiotic agent. Aids in healing! try it, there are no side effects with it either, so you won't be allergic. Good luck!

It could be either one. Any doctor should be able to diagnose a sinus infection (if it is one) or give you something to get you over the worse part of the allergies. Why don't you start with an internist or family doctor; you may not have to see an ENT at all.

Could be either sinus infection or allergies.

I'm dealing with a sinus infection right now (in SoCal) where the congestion is mainly in my head and nose, along with the drip down my throat. I went to the doctor and my lungs sounded clear to him.

I'm on the antibiotics now, along with an anti-histamine, so hopefully thing swill start to clear up.

Yeah, u need to saline your nose daily . Allergy season is here, and u are suffering like most humans. Try home remedies first, rub some camphor on head and fill an empty drink bottle with hot water, put a hot rag under the bottle and try to feel better.
