Glue only sticks because the moister in it evaporates leaving behind the hard solid residue. If the bottle stays closed, then the moisture cannot evaporate, thereby it never hardens.

Different glues work for different things. You may need to use an adhesive that works for glass or plastic but I don't think Elmer's white glue will cut it. Check out your local craft/hardware store.

It's kept in a water-tight container. That keeps it from hardening and sticking to stuff. The orange twist-on top is the airlock on the bottle.

Because it's had the air sucked out or whatever they do, and it has that tight lid to keep it out. That's why sometimes you have to squeeze really hard. Those super glue things are the worst. They are so hard to use.

If you are trying to apply it to the outside of the bottle, you will need a 2 part epoxy or silicone. Either one should work.

No oxygen inside the bottle, or very little anyway, keeps it from drying.
