Unless "correct" means your daughter's opinion matches the opinion of the teacher, the real point of the question would be for her to justify her response. She will need to explain WHY she believes the invention she chooses is the best. I'd personally probably say the wheel, but it really is a matter of opinion.

The answer I would give is the satellite. Used for communications around the world, the internet would not be around, if not for it. Also, telephone/radio/television communication would not be easily available for our ever expanding knowledge of events happening around the world. Another good invention is the rocket. It is used to place these satellites into space. Without either one, life would be pretty simple, just like in the 17- or 18- hundreds.

The Wheel......in all its forms... This single-handily has transformed The entire World into progression. It sparked the industrial revolution of the 19 th century and has been the building block of almost every civilization known to man. Think of how our World would be if we didn't have the wheel??? This one invention spawned countless others and kept the forward progress of mankind in all its glory and actions.....armies could not conquer if they had no wheel nor could they supply their troops or keep the supply train going.....let alone the transportation of all the goods, supplies, materials, food deposits, etc. that feed our planet.....mind-boggling when you think of it....even the circuits and electronics and gears and mechanisms come from the wheel.....wow!!!

I have agree and say computer. What can compare to the amazing invention of a novel language having only two letters in its alphabet, namely 0 and 1. It is truly unique in that you can create from it all other known languages, pictures, movies, sound information, etc.

There are many great inventions! I think the best (even though I hate it) has to be vehicles. They let you go to places very far away and visit family and friends that live out of town.

Fire. It enabled us to cook food, fell the primeval forests, keep warm and scare away preadators - as well as later on smelt metal, generate steam and electricity, as well as many other things.
