I justgot a dalmation puppy and I am teaching it to learn its name
I have been saying it for 30 minutes HELP!

say the name clearly and calmly. make sure your ds is not too close to your mouth. my daughter had a problem with one, too.

I had this same problem until i realised that backround noise such as the tv or a girlfriend that won't shut up really reduces the chances of the dog learning much faster

i dont have a dalmation but i do have a whole bunch of dogs, some dogs take longer than others, so just be patient. try speaking loudly and clearly and holding your ds about 6/7 inches from your face. i remember one of my dogs took over 20 minutes to learn its name, it was not fun ='(

A short quick whistle and a snap of the fingers to call the dog to you as you say its name. Followed by a playful rub when it comes. Don't start with the treat thing, it sets a bad precedence.
