For the men: Have them dress up as football players using the schools jersey.
For the women: Cheerleaders using the same concept.
Or reverse the theme; Men as cheerleaders and the women as the players.
The students would have a laugh.

How about you each pick a vegetable or fruit? You could be a tossed salad. Most of the costume could be made out of construction paper or that craft foam & hot glued. It'd be cute.

I'm going as a Christmas (halloween) tree and my black dog will don a white stripe and become a skunk...he's a little stinker, after all....one could be a pencil....pretty easy to make with cardboard!

You could go as a doomsday cult - all of you wear the same color and pass out literature about the end of the world. A slight variation on the theme would be produced by wearing thrift store business clothes, then you would be Jehovah's Witnesses. (As I was raised one its okay for me to make fun of them.)
