The disciplinary actions were also a disgrace. I was surprise the NCAA didn't get involved but instead left it up to the universities to dish out punishment....if that is what you want to call it....

As an alumni of FIU and a witness of the event at the OB I think the punishment given to our players was good. Two of the worst offenders got dismissed from the team and 16 others got suspended indefinitely. 12 of those are starting players. On the other hand UM's one game suspension is a joke especially when that game is against Duke. Punishing the whole team especially when there were atheletes on both sides doing the right thing would be to harsh. Besides both coaches may now be fired at season's end. Bad things lead to Bad consequences.

The players who can be identified should be suspended from play or dropped from the team. Not going to happen because colleges depend on good teams to generate donations for the school. In the old days colleges and universities educated the character in addition to the mind. Not true anymore and our values are falling apart. The brawl was a lapse in sportsmanship and ethics.

I think what was even funnier were the comments by Lamar Thomas, the color analyst from Comcast Sports Southeast, who was later fired. He's a former Miami player and just couldn't suppress the football player in him:

"Now, that's what I'm talking about," Thomas said as the brawl raged out of control. "You come into our house, you should get your behind kicked. You don't come into the OB playing that stuff. You're across the ocean over there. You're across the city. You can't come over to our place talking noise like that. You'll get your butt beat. I was about to go down the elevator to get in that thing."

You can't suspend the whole team, believe it or not, their were a lot of guys not involved. I say everybody involved should be suspended for 5 games.
