It doesn't take years to fall in love with your mate although that love can grow more and more over time. Some people believe in love at first sight. You can love someone dearly and not be in love with them. Maybe that's the case here? If you're in love, you'll know it!

I think the feeling of "falling in love" is a bonus of choosing to love someone.

To love someone is a choice. It is a choice to want that person to be happy; a choice to want the best for the person; and a choice to make sacrafices if necissary to ensure the persons happiness.

The feeling of "falling in love" is a result of those choices. I don't think it takes "years" to fall in love but the the feeling of falling in love can grow stronger over the years. However, it can also weaken over the years as well.

I think you are already in love with your mate
but haven't realize it yet... well, because if you are staying with him in years, that means something. So my answer is no. You would not stand to be with somebody you don't really love.

No.
I think it takes different people different times. We're all different which is why some of us love easier, some of us find it difficult to love, and some of us are consistently falling out of love.
It varies from person to person.
