If by "telling" you are referring to verbal communication, you could use body language to convey your true feelings without actually saying anything. You could always get someone else to tell him, though that contradicts what you were hoping to achieve, as "you" wanted to be the one to "show" him your true feelings. Pictograms, sign language, and facial expressions could work, as well. Just be resourceful. Ask around to see what others have done, or put yourself in different situations. There are numerous ways to communicate, and anyways, something like 10% of communication is verbal, while the rest is conveyed visually.

Make eye contact with him from across the room, sit somewhere in the cafeteria that is facing towards him, and smile at him when you walk by him. It's subtle, but if he's the right one, he'll notice you are there and will be worth your time.

flirt but show that you have standards as well and you're not just loosely flirting with him. Eye contact is very important and is pretty much enough. Get in proximity so he can make his move.

Flirt with him, smile a lot, make an effort to be by his side more than usual, touch his shoulder when you're by him, a lot of subtle things can really add up.

You should learn how to have a conversation with him before you decide you like him. Just tell him so you know for sure.

i think the best way is to just tell them may not have to be out your mouth you could buy a card, maybe write it down or you could do it the old way have a friend or relative let him know. make sure it is somebody you trust.

Dont really be all over him cuz then he will just get used to that and think that thats just how u r. You should, of course, get to kno him first, then flirt with him in ways he wouldnt expect it....so that he gets it.

hmm...thats hard...believe me, there is some guys even when you stare at their face and smile they dont understand or they do understand but dont do anything...
