i'm guessing you mean (by+2)/3 = c
solving for y:
by+2=3c
by=3c-2
y=(3c-2)/b

Hi. Math CAN be fun. 'by' means 'b' times 'y', 'over' means divided by, 'c' is simply one side of the equation, with the '=' sign being the balance point. So whatever you do on one side you do on the other. You want 'y', right? Start by multiplying both sides by 3. (by+2 = 3c),
then subtract 2 from both sides (by = 3c-2), then divide both sides by 'b' (y=(3c-2)/b). I know it looks hard but the concept works for all equations. Learn the concept, learn that math is fun.

Do you know the order of operations? PEMDAS, just do that, but always the opposite if you're moving something across the = sign.

(by + 2) / 3 = c
multiply both sides by y

3by + 6 = cy

3by - cy = -6
factor

y(3b - c) = -6

y = (-6) / 3b - c

(by + 2) / 3 = c
First, multiply both sides by (1y)

This is what you'll get
3b(1y) + 6 = cy

3b(1y) - cy = -6
factor this equarion to equal

1y(3b - c) = -6

Final answer ==> 1y = (-6) / 3b - c

just solve for y
y=(c-2/3)/b
