Yo, Cartman!
For the record, South Park, the Simpsons, Family guy etc. (while great animated shows) are NOT anime!!! They are a whole different category!! It's like asking what's the best sitcom on TV and somebody saying the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
I think Cowboy Bebop is the best anime ever televised in the USA.
Excel Saga for a series on DVD (don't think it ever was on TV here).
I liked Samurai Champloo, Ruroni Kenshin & Yuyu Hakusho more than Trigun.

I think the best anime with English dubs is either Fullmetal Alchemist, Rorouni Kenshin or Cardcaptor Sakura. If in Japanese with English subs I have to say I like Naruto (really bad with English dubs) Ouron High School Host Club, Bleach, and Zero no Tsugwa.

I love all the animes they've mentioned *points above* but I must say, if there is one anime (actually it's an anime movie) that I would want to show an anime hater to convert him it would be
GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES!!!
It touched me so much. The setting is world war II in Japan, at a time when that country is under attack by the Americans. Two siblings had to stand up on their own to survive right after their mother died. Unfortunately, one of them died, and the other commiserated the lost of her little sister. No sooner, he died too with no left to heed his voice, no one to care for. At last he was reunited with his sister.
It's a perfect look into human animosity, and ironically, into human life itself.

Inuyasha is like Berserk for women. I think I'll make a mental note and cosplay as an Inuyasha character so I can be molested by the fan girls.
By the way, when did Code Lyoko become anime?

My favorite anime is Samurai X because it's based on my favorite manga, Rurouni Kenshin. My second favorite would have to be Inuyasha, then S-Cry-ed, then Cowboy Bebop.
