You are selling pies for a fundraiser. A wedge of chocolate pie sells for $2. A wedge of apple pies sells for #1.50. At the end of the day, you find that you have collected a total of $49. You sold 10 pieces of apple pie. How many pieces of chocolate pie did you sell?

You sold ten pieces of apple pie, at $1.50 per. That's $15 from apple pies.

If you collected $49 total, and $15 came from apple pies, then $34 must have come from chocolate pies.

If you got $34 from chocolate pies, and each slice sold for $2, how many chocolate pies did you sell?

This stuff really isn't hard, you just need to take it step by step.

Multiply the cost of the apple pie (1.5) by the number of pieces sold (10). Subtract that amount from $49. Divide that anwer by the cost of the chocolate pies (2). That will give you the correct answer. Good Luck!!!
