How do I get rid of chipmunks (no violence please) that are burrowing in to my gardens? They are starting to cause damage, i.e., sidewalk shifting, rock wall pulling away from foundation. Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated.

ok, this is true. put exlax at the point where they are going in and out. you won't see another chip monk for years. same for moles.

Could you try spreading/sprinkling blood meal on surface of soil where they dig. Blood meal is already a soil enricher/fertiliser & can't harm anything. Animals avoid it. It's said they "sense their own kind" and keep away from the location.

It's not expensive and doesn't dissolve. Worth a shot.

i had the same problem and i got a good jack russel terrier. Now no more chip munks. she keeps them chased away and has fun doing it.

You can trap them (HUMANELY), and release them a mile away, doubt it will help, there's probably hundreds of them, I don't mind them, cute little fuzz balls. A pretty little gift of nature, cool looking too !

Are you sure they are chipmunks and not gophers/moles.
