the sfx in films is far superior than even 10 years ago. but now movies are all special effects and no plot which stinks. like ''the matrix'' i like the movie and the SFX but the plot was confusing when i first watched. and the two sequels had no plot whatsoever. just a lot of action and fancy SFX

My vote goes for the ultra-low budget movie "I Was A Teenage Zombie." It was just too funny.
The big special effect was the hero chopping a zombie in two lengthwise (quick cut to a one of those plastic-biology-class-maniquins-with-the removable-parts falling to the floor)..

"H. G. Well's The War of the Worlds" release by Pendragon Studios before Spielberg's updating. You gotta see it to believe it. With the available technology they spare "EVERY" expense for that one.

I really don't know if anyone has ever seen this movie, but one time my dad turned on this move called Troll 2, and not only were the special effects bad, the acting and the story line was bad. On this one part, this kid was getting help from his dead grandpa to defeat some witch, and he told the kid to look in his backpack, and he pulled out a double-decker bologna sandwich and the witch and the trolls started melting. I asked my dad if the movie was supposed to be scary, and he started laughing and said "I guess.." The movie was so bad that it was hilarious. It was really retarded. If you decide to rent it sometime, you should, but only if you were able to laugh at Napoleon Dynamite. If you hated Napoleon, don't rent it. But, it is so stupid you could cry from laughter.
