Any one in a polygamous realtionship who wants to give me some advice on comtrolling jealousy and anger about the situation I am in? I love my husband and my jealousy is taking bad toll on my marriage. I chose this life as his second wife, and it's not fair for me to take my anger out on him or his first wife, but I do sometimes and it causes problems. My email is my user name. Only serious answers please.

I wish I could help you. I am marrying a Muslim man soon, and I could never tolerate another woman in our life. I am too jealous and possessive. I think you are realizing you need and deserve a husband who is yours and yours only. Best wishes to you on this. Allah will guide you to do what is right. I will pray for you.

Anger is an indication that you are not being treated well. Maybe your jealousy is that you would like to be treated as well as the first wife. Wives in monogamous relationships often feel this way, too. A wife cannot help feeling angry if her needs (not just food and shelter) are unmet, and if she continuously gives to her spouse and gets nothing good from him or his family. "Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because the Devil has been thrown down to you. Jesus is able to help. "Seek and ye shall find." Maybe husbands not meeting their wives needs is their way of dealing with that woe. What do you want from your husband that he is not giving.

Have you tried talking to him, or his first wife? Maybe if they knew you were feeling this way, they could make you feel better. At the least, you will likely loose any guilt you feel about your jealousy by getting it in the open.
