The way to help your friend is to let her know that she has a problem with her self esteem. Problems with self esteem can happen for many varied reasons but they really do wreak havoc when relationships are involved.
She needs to learn about all the good things that she sees and likes about herself. She needs to realize that she does not need to have another person to be happy. Even if she had the man of her dreams she would be unhappy because she has the self esteem problems. When she learns to love herself and what she has to offer to another then she will let go of this person because she will realize that they are not worth her time.
She should also remember that just as she has preferences, likes, dislikes, attractions, and repulsions of others and that is her right that others have the same rights. We don't have to love each other or even like each other, no one can make us do that. That is why when you find that special one who does love you, willingly and freely it is very special and that is what everyone is looking for.
When she loves herself and understands that she is worthy of love then she will attract the right people and not get hurt as much.

thats a toughy- she needs to keep busy and set goals for herself that have nothign to do with guys- maybe career goals and such. She will get focused and then out of nowhere a guy will be in her life- well thats how it is supposed to work. Keep her busy and hopefully time heals all wounds!!! Good Luck and I'm sorry its is always hard.

You have to find someone else instead. But still.. I had a crush at someone that I shouldn't but when I had to knew him better ( and it didn't involve anything intimating. Just his personality.)... ouch, it was over.

loving someone is not about being able to be with that person. as long as that person is happy (whoever he may be with), just feel grateful that you have found someone to fall for and to love. Having someone to whom you want to give your love is simply enough, isnt it?

You don't break a bad habit, you replace it. She needs to find someone to move on with.
