I think the farmers are very important to the USA without them we would be in big trouble. I think the government should take better care of our farmers.

Only if you like to eat! Unfortunately, the family farms are slipping away.Either the next generation doesn't want to farm or they are being lost to the banks for a variety of reasons. I don't know about you, but I like knowing where my food comes from. Think about it, what better way to kill off a large population of people? An infected food source could kill off many people before even being narrowed down. Farming is very hard work, working from the wee hours of the morning to sometimes having to work all night, irrigating their crops.God love and bless the farmer, they are a dying breed!

YESSSSS we are!!!
we raise black Angus here on our farm.....and the corn that feeds them.
we also garden enough to feed ourselves vegetables summer and winter both, keep 8-14 goats at all times (they are wonderful hillside weed eaters) and have one big old grumpy horse (we tried to paint him pink and glue on some wings, he resisted our attempt though)
but our farm is very important.....who wants to live without a big fat Angus steak?

Yes, they still provide much of the food for the U.S. and the rest of the world. Unfortunately, they don't get paid what I believe they should for this important job.

They are very important. i feel sorry for them, gov. taxes the hell out of them and we keep importing a lot of our food. stupid isn't it?
They used to be the back bone of our country.
Remember pilgrims and the indians hunted and farmed to feed their families.
