Last 3 months, I did called to renew my SBC DSL Internet Service for 14.99 a month for one more year. The customer service guy did agree with me on this. He said "I'll add to you one more year for 14.99/month". I called twice to make sure that I heard him right. Recently, when I look at my bill, they charged me with 19.99/month. I can't believe it. I called back to SBC DSL to ask, they said: "Something has changed in our policy, and 19.99 is the best price that we can offer you (?)"

What should I do? Can I sue them?

I don't know if you can sue them but on www.foxnews.com they might still have the address of the sight that people can report things like this. Like you make a videa or recording of it then send it tot them and it will appear on google and yahoo searches etc. And sometimes the companies end up apologizing and giving you free stuff etc. But sueing them might be ok but you will need at least two proofs of the wrong act that was committed. So if you do sue you want to make sure that it is very very organized and have many proofs. Cause it can be the difference between making a very big profit or a devestating loss.

Likely not, AFTER you join, you usually get a welcome packet from these companies and my guess is if you went in and actually read it, you would find some small print that states that they have the right to change their fees at any time. A lawsuit wouldn't be worth the cost of hiring an attorney anyway. The average retainer fee is over $500, and that doesn't include doing ANY work.

I had a similar experience. In the long run I'd stick with what you've got. Its still cheap and SBC has good service. Suing isn't worth the time. You've got better thinkgs to do in life.

first of all, "Albert" is worth ignoring using his many rude and unfounded assumptions.Albert could do properly to take his own suggestion and somewhat of having rude use his strategies and know he doesnt comprehend what youve already been by using with sbc and what youve already communicated with them. Secondly, companies like sbc and at&t are no longer mindreaders - they are firms that DO shop documents of their calls with shoppers and transactions. that's how they do agency. so as that they could desire to be waiting to look up each and each verbal replace youve had with their workers and arrangements made. If as you pronounced they did no longer finished or supply something as you pronounced by using the time they initially advised you, it is going to be of their notes. If its no longer, or they mysteriously lose them as theyve been conventional to do, they could desire to strengthen their record conserving or they are knowingly doing shady practices. With a agency like sbc and at&t it may desire to easily as probable be one or the two. So be sure you hold surprising documents of all your contacts and calls with them, what they adjust to, orders, dates and situations of contacts, who you spoke with, and so on.. no longer that its any convenience, yet i comprehend of too lots of people who've or have had provider with sbc / at&t and proportion the subjects and worse you pronounced with them. Its stable your no longer in basic terms rolling over and accepting deceitful agency practices and detrimental provider quietly, as that basically makes it extra ordinary for them to proceed offering inferior centers. Dont subject with reference to the poorly knowledgeable or knowledgeable and ignorant human beings alongside with Albert who dont even take their own suggestion with refraining from judging what they dont completely comprehend. As pronounced, your studies with those firms are fairly subject-loose, and that they are notoriously disorganized and their provider is many times fairly spotty. do exactly a seek for detrimental sbc or at&t dsl provider or such and notice how lots comes up on the internet.
