how much do other countries owe us?
You know what would help? If we gave more money to welfare. We only spend about 150 billion a year on that. If I were to guess, I'd say that maybe 5% of the recipients are using it as a hand up, and not a hand out.

No I am not concerned at all. The budget deficit has fallen to 250 billion and with the economy so strong it will continue to fall. The only way the debt can come down is if we continue to have increased tax receipts like we have had the last several years. According to the CBO tax receipts shot up 11.8 % over 2005 and 2005 was up 14.5 percent over the previous year. If we go back to higher taxes the revenue will slip and business will not be able to expand thus creating a higher debt due to lack of higher priced exports. Isn't it nice to work with facts instead of propaganda?

China and the US knows that if we get into a fight it will be total annihilation of both countries,,therefore they will not start a war. If they call the debt due ,the government actually dont own anything. What will they do ,put a trade embargo in effect,,,without our trade what would their economy do,,,they will continue to swap dollars and merchandise and someday it will balance,,maybe when the bombs go off Japan is not a problem

I laugh at those who say this is a "Republican" issue or problem, the Democrats would spend far more....
As for the size of the debt, who cares... it really doesn't exist.... all the uS would have to do is to declare it won't pay the debt, and those who don't like it could come take it.... it is just an electronic shuffle of some numbers that don't really exist....
huge farce, the national debt

Yes, it is deeply disturbing. If the US would stop handing out money to other countries that hate us anyway, maybe this ridiculous travesty wouldn't be happening.

I'm disturbed, appalled, frustrated, saddened and well, pissed. Wish I could think of something I could do about it. Too bad voting has been rendered practically moot. Guess I'll do it anyway. If things get much worse we might have our own civil war or revolution to look forward to. whee.

Yes disturbed, but what are we going to do about it.
Anybody who goes in to politics, gets corrupted.
Should we over throw the government, and put them all on trial. Make them pay for their stupidity.

Yes, it is very disturbing to me. Mainly because eventually they are going to have to get some money to pay it back. Where do you think they will get it?????

Maybe we owe that much money because of THESE secret plans to be implemented against ordinary U.S. citizens after rioting and martial law is instituted by foreign troops already on U.S. soil!...
