Dear Fourteen,
Just be your sweet self. The rest nature will take care of. Don't hurry love.

You are at such a difficult time. One of the reasons I do not wish to be young again. Let your friendship progress on its own. You can let him know you like him but risk loosing him as a friend. Be prepared, this almost always happens, if he does not end up being "interested" in you it will most likely be a close friend of yours and you will end up having to see it played out. Just keep cool, be around for him (and he needs to be there for you). Old saying but true. Friends (long term) end up being the best boy or girlfriend down the road. They already know and don't care what your quirks may be. Simply, take it slow. You already have him in your life, enjoy that part of it. This way you can see what "quirks" he may have.

Enjoy his company and companionship. Be a kid and enjoy the present. Life happens soooo quickly. Enjoy the innocence and youth of now.
Life is good. Remember these moments. Rejection, being told no, happiness, sadness, joy, are all a component of living that each experiences.
Enjoy / Join the NOW. Relish the friendship and good times.

well the point is are you guys best friends? do you and him share secrets or play around? can you trust him? can he trust you? if you really want to go out with him then just ask!! don't be afarid have some courage girl!! it may feel a little bit awkward if he turns you down..but that's not gonna ruin it!! he may not talk to you for a while but at least it's better than anything..
also you need to know if he likes you too!! the way you can get him to ask YOU out is to sweet talk him play around more..flirt..tease..whatever..maybe he'll come around and ask you out..who knows? boys are just fricken complicated these days!!

Only you know if you really do like him enough to risk a good friendship. A good friendship is very valuable and please do think long and hard on that. If you do like him as much as you think and you can really see him in your future, take the risk, hit on him or give him a signal that you feel this way so that he can hit on you!!! I think you should make the move if you want this as something more than platonic but when you do take that risk, make it very romantic as long as you are risking your friendship make a romantic/valiant effort . If he is as cool as you say, he is worth doing something special for. Best of luck,
T.

listen fourteen... if you were me and i was talking to you as me at my current age (yes it does kinda make sense), assuming that i'd had a sex change in the intervening years 'cos i'm a guy now(!) i'd ask you to go with what you feel but what I would feel is that you should wait for someone better and older when You're older too.
That's what i'd tell myself if you were me at the age of fourteen and i was talking to you as me being you (after a gender change)

You have nothing to loose unless you ask, but to be honest , if someone likes you, its something you feel in your heart.... you just know!!... if he is worth anything and says no, he Will still want to be your friend.
