There are a few really nice ones. It depends on your budget. I have personally stayed at:

The Venetian (expensive, but very nice);
The Bellagio (very expensive, a little stuffy);
The Rio (mid-expense, great fun)
The South Coast (off the strip, very nice, great TVs, low-mod price)
The Luxor (mid-price, thin walls)
Circus Circus (low price, super dive...they have a trailer park)
Harrah's (mid price, good location)
MGM (mid-expensive, very smokey, too many prostitutes at night)

Hope these help! Do a little research on Tripadvisors.com. People are really honest about their stays and sometimes they take actual photos.

If you are driving to Vegas or renting a car the locals hotels are a better bargain than the Strip Hotels. I can recommend The Orleans or Gold Coast, but only if you have a car.

The Tropicana has been running some really low priced specials, I stayed there 3 weeks ago and I slept like a rock on their nice bed. But the hotel itself is a bit rundown, it's only a good value.

If you want to spend a little more the Monte Carlo, Flamingo or Treasure Island are nice places that are usually lower priced than the upper tier properties.

Next step up would be MGM, Paris, Mirage, or Luxor. All are very nice hotels, although I feel more secure recommending the first three over the Luxor.

Caesars Palace kinda fit here, just under the ultra-luxury hotels, but above the rest. A great hotel with the only shopping mall in the world that I can spend hours in, The Forum Shops.

If money is no object then it's either Bellagio, The Venetian, or Wynn. You cannot go wrong with any of these three.

Depends on your budget. I have stayed at Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Imperial Palace, Excalibur and the Las Vegas Hilton. I would never go back to Imperial Palace nor Excalibur. Imperial Palace was a dump. Excalibur is for families and kids, check in took one hour. My favorite is Caesars Palace.

Downtown, I have stayed at Main Street Station, Binions, Fremont, Golden Nugget and California Club. I would probably stay at any one of them. All clean and reasonable. Favorite is Golden Nugget

Enrol in their casino card programs, yeah it's a marketing tool and why not get a deal others may not. I just stayed 3 days at the Golden Nugget a couple weeks ago. In May, I stayed a weekend at Caesars Palace for free and free concert tickets.

Good luck

If you want cheap, go for Stratosphere or CIrcus Circus. Stratosphere is 100% cheapest out there, but its all the way at the end of the strip, so you have to walk 2 blocks or so to get to the monorail etc, unless you're taking a cab or a rental. its 3 star all the way. Same with Circus. Not top of the line, but fun none the less. Excalibur is also reasonable and close to quite a bit.

Hi....I just got back from my first trip to Vegas and I stayed at the Tropicana in the Island Tower king room for $49.95 a night. I enrolled in their players club and didn't gamble much but upon check out they doubled my comps and I saved an additional $20 and got $8 cash back. It was right by NYNY, which was my favorite casino. We really liked the clam chowder in a breadbowl at the Fulton St fish and the Family Meal deal for 14.95 was more than enough for two and the fish is awesome. I don't even like fish.

Belagio-Way overpriced, but nice.

Best Western Tuscany- Huge rooms and it's just off of the strip. I've stayed there three times and I will definitely be going back. One of my favorites.

Aladdin-Way overpriced, but mellow atmosphere and clean rooms.

Tropicana- Mid Priced, but kind of dumpy. Clean rooms. Not much more.

Your best bet is the Tuscany. They have a small casino, poker tables, bar , restaurants and a pool. Deluxe over-sized bathrooms featuring separate soaking tub and shower. The works!

Honestly this is one of the best kept secrets in Vegas.

Most of my clients enjoy the Stratosphere. I have discounts for this hotel. I personally like the Luxor.

It all depends on your budget, here are my faves:

If money is no object go for Venetian or Wynn or Bellagio

Moderately priced go for Paris or Mandalay Bay
