Don't picture anyone in their underwear because you might end up laughing which would cause more embarrassment.

Just look at everyone's forehead so that you don't lock eyes with anyone. Stage fright is hard to get over when you can see people actually looking back at you.

Truth is, nobody gets over stage fright. Ne-Yo and Emma Roberts even admitted they stll have stage fright, and they're very famous. So just do your thing, act, and once you get up on stage and the cameras are on, you'll get over it! Practicing is the best way to feel confy in front of others.

One of the best ways to deal with stage fright is to BE PREPARED! If you know your material inside-and-out, and know you won't be making any mistakes, that's half the battle.
Also, know that when you're up there, you aren't wasting anyone's time: the audience WANTS to see you perform, so realize that you have their support while you're there. A certain amount of jitters is normal, it's your energy flowing through you and giving you the power to go on stage.
Just know that, when you're up there, that's YOUR TERRITORY!

Eliminate shame from your lexicon. Don’t worry about dropping a line, you’ll make up one. Don’t be afraid of messing up. It won’t happen, because you’ll have rehearsed your piece so much. The other thing is focus on what you are doing. If you are in a play focus on the other actor and shut out everything else. If you are addressing a group of people talk to individual people in the audience and focus on what you are trying to communicate. The audience won’t kill you, you won’t die of a heart attack. There is a lot of energy that is sent your way when everyone is looking at you, send that energy back to your audience. Once you can do that, you’ll never be afraid again, and you’ll love being in front of people.

keep getting up on that stage and say what you want to say. you may be nervous (even if you dont have stage fright i think that we all get butterflys in our stomachs) but thats normal. just keep facing your fear and each time you will get better and better. eventualy it will become a second nature. GOOD LUCK!

You don't. Guilgood and Olivier both admitted they had stage fright into their 80's.

I've heard you have to imagine people in their underwear, except if the audience is little ankle biters LOL, but the answer is take a speech class, get peer critique, and teachers can be so cruel, but honesty helps,. Just grin and bear it and you will become proficient. Don't take it too personal, and remember, practice, practice, practice. Repetition works. It also helps to record yourself. You will be your own worst critic.

Well personally I used to be shy but hey I am out of that tho and that was a long time ago. Role play on someone face to face. You should little at a time speak your mind in class. Then start talking to your friends a lot write down good topics and then talk bout them. start off with one person around then go for more each day. It works i am telling you!!!

Focus your concentration solely on your performance, or just go with the tried-and-true "audience in their underwear" approach. Break a leg!
