basically someone watched the house for us whilst on holiday and have been in my email account! I have found certain things that i wanted to keep {that I had previously sent} now gone!!! The trash file was emptied the whole "sent" file has gone and the computers recycle bin is also empty before I go to the police i would prefer to check it was nothing and anything that was sent was in no way a violation to my personaldetails or credit rating or anything else for that matter! Is there any way of getting any of the Emails back?

Since Yahoo Mail is Server based all your email are stored on it. Once all the areas (Sent folder, Trash Folder, etc) are deleted they are permanently deleted and cannot be found. This is why Yahoo puts up the warning boxes when you do deletions.

If you did not have your computer password protected from startup, I don't see where you have any case for the Police. If the person cracked your password and accessed your computer then you do have a case.

I think if your trash file and recycle bin has been emptied then there's nothing you can do.

Unfortunately, you can't.Hopefully, nothing malicious has occurred, but you may have some idea of what happened if you receive any unrecognised emails.
