I live in an apartment complex that is seriously overcrowded, 2 bedroom apartments with 10-12 poeple living in them, I know this is against some kind of law, does anyone know who I can complain to? This is in Franklin County Ohio. Management knows of the problem and condones it, this is unhealthy. I am sure that many are illegal, there is trash everywhere, water bills are getting really expensive and now some people are getting cockroaches, it is unsafe and I want something done about it, but I don't know who to contact to do something about it. Does anyone out there know what I can do? I still have 10 months left on my lease so, I cant move at the moment.

No, it isn't against the law at all in Franklin County, Ohio. Also, your landlords are under NO legal obligation to ask for identification when renting or leasing an apartment to someone. They may be purposely avoiding the issue BUT they have no duty to ask for identification. Also, they can not refuse to rent to people because they are not citizens (gotta love the way discrimination laws work in this country). I suggest you try to get out of your lease. Let this be a lesson to you. Check out housing developments BEFORE moving in.

Refuse to pay your rent and see what happens. Lease? What's that? No money, no apartment. Move to a better neighborhood.
Report this mess to your congressman and to every government department you can. Nothing will be done but at least you have a record. Try appearing on Bill O'Reilly, Fox News. Good story. If not Bill O'Reilly, then Hannity and Colms on Fox/ Take photos.

I feel sorry about your situtation, if I were you I would switch-out, but first you need to take legal action. With 300,000,000 people in America and tons of immigrants pouring in from everywhere its time someone DOES soemthing about this. Why don't they just give Mexico to us?

Talk directly with the police and get the news reporters a story about this and ask them to do an undercover investagtion and take legal action. Tell me if you get anything accomplished!

Call INS. What should the management do? If they pay the rent, management isn't going to care one way or the other.

I find this very hard to believe. However, since you state that it is true, then one must believe it. Since the management is putting you in a unhealthy situation by their action, you could seek legal remedies to break your lease without penalty. Good luck to you.

two phone calls--one to INS and the other to your local health dept. if nothing happens call your local newspaper and make a scene, the problem will be taken care of or mgmt. will give the deposit back and you can move.

Call the Office of Immigration...the illegals will clear out faster than you can say "see ya"....if they just HEAR the word immigration, they are out of there...
