Fast food doesn't take any cooking time...is that what's convienient for you? Think about the cost, the fat and the lack of nutrition from eating (and the weight too)solely fast food. Now, think about what vegetables and meats you do like to eat. You can learn how to prepare them easily and quickly if you take the time to learn. I avoid long ingredient recipes and others that do take a long time in the prep stage. I have learned how to shop for bags of vegetables like salad fixings and already cut up carrots, broccoli and such. Steaming, microwaving or even opening bags of frozen vegies or meals are very easy. Just allow yourself time to explore the grocers for what is available and keep in mind to eat from all the food groups. It's hard to break away from driving through a fast food window, but you can and it will be worth it.

Healthy food does not take more time to prepare just a little planning. A fresh salad requires only washing and cutting veggies, Add some tuna, a little olive oil and lime juice and you have a fresh healthy meal. If you want to skip the cutting then buy pre-cut mixed veggies. A quick pasta dish with sauce from a jar takes only the time to boil the pasta. Add tuna or your favorite kielbasa and off you go.

. Not all 'fast food' is un-healthy. Try to find a good Mexican ( Not Taco Hell), Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Vietnamese take out. Many of the dishes are made fresh.

Google '30 Min Meals' for recipes

There are also so very tasty & healthy frozen options.

Lots of fast food places have really good salads that you could eat. Just go easy of the heavy dressings. Also, if you grab an apple or make up some wheat crackers with peanut butter, that's quick. Or, if you have a blender at home, make your own smoothies. Throw in some fruit, milk, and yogurt and that's it. If you don't like yogurt, use vanilla pudding.

When it comes to eating healthier, quality trumps quantity. Fresh foods contain fewer low-nutrient fillers that the body burns through quickly. If you are buying and eating less food, then you will have more money in your pocket.

Watch Super Size Me. I've always hated fast food, and after watching that, my family said they're never going to McDonald's again. Yay! I think everyone should see that movie. ♥
