Wow nice zahbudar. I do know how to play the piano and violin, but I was talking more about drawing, painting. I see works of famous artists like Da Vinci, Raphael, and Monet, and I feel I want to do something beautiful and grand also (even though it would probably never be comparable to theirs). I have all these ideas and pictures in my head, but I find it very difficult to put on paper. I am good at painting clay statues/models...

Ah young one, do not despair...
Art has many forms...you may just not be suited for
pencil or brush - drawing and painting...

Have you tried modeling in clay?

Have you tried carving? Soap is a cheap and easy medium to begin with...look around for suitable tools
to use. Try it. If successful, move on up to a more
suitable medium.

Have you tried music? Piano, guitar, flute, harmonica,
singing...

Have you tried making Mobiles from simple materials at home... This is a real art and can be simply fascinating.
Eventualy you can move up to using copper wire and stained glass, chromed metal and copper plate, etc.

You can even make lovely art with quilting patterns,
mosaic tile arrangements on a replacement table top,
lovely arrangements of colored glass blobs on a window pane (use glue), construct modern art with sections of paper from magazines - the sky is the limit, open your mind to the possibilities...

Have you ever flown a kite? The construction of kites is a very complex art and the decoration of them can be even wilder...do a search on the internet for Kites...look at what some have done...WOW.

The trick is to find what you are good at, and then apply that to some phase of art. Art is not just drawing and painting. Believe me, it isn't.

hi there;

First, take heart no artist can draw a straight line as the world is not composed of straight lines. :)
If your stumbling block is that you have all these concepts in your head and you wish to learn how to make them come alive in a 2 demension medium what you can do visit various web sites that will take you through the steps you need to know.
I have posted a few for you below. Check them out. Also I strongly recommend that you buy a sketch pad and some good pencils and just DRAW! It does not matter that you do not think they are very good or that they look like disasters. Drawing or painting is like everything else; practice makes perfect.
Do not be hyper critical of your work nor stress over the final product. Take baby steps with your work and allow yourself to make mistakes. Children will fall when they learn to walk. You will too. :) This is perfectly acceptable and expected!
Once you have the ability to see where light is coming from and can have the ability to see perspective ( thats why I urge you to just draw what you see) you can then experiment with different mediums. Try acrylics, oils, watercolors, chalks, try clays, fabrics, paper mache, wire, the list is endless but try it! Even if you think its not for you, do it. It will give you a whole new perspective about transforming the 3D into 2D or 3D live objects into 3D still objects.
Again, don't get discouraged and don't put yourself down. You need not show anyone your work even if you are comfortable with it. There are so many mediums that you can apply your artistic side to. :D
Be well friend.

Art is a skill like any other. Granted, there are many born artists but education in technique can help you achieve your goal. You can be taught to draw,it is the soul and vision that makes an artist and you sound as if you may possess both. Take as many art classes as you can in high school and apply to art school for after you graduate. If you have the drive and passion to create art you will do so someday.

People tend to think that if you are an artist it is something which just one day hits you and BAM...you can draw. Trust me it's not like that. Drawing is a thing you have to practise over and over again. Find a subject you like and draw it over and over until you get the feel of it and it looks good to you. Draw anything you see that appeals to you even if it's not 'perfect'. Get some sketching books from the library and studdy how to shade and perspective etc and your talent will grow from there.
